Piedmont at Vinitaly

Piedmont is present at the 53rd edition of Vinitaly which takes place from 7 to 10 April in Verona and is located in pavilion 10.

Vinitaly, the most important international trade fair for the wine sector, has the participation of over 600 Piedmontese exhibitors. Mostly small and medium-sized companies, to which are added about twenty cooperative wineries, protection consortia, producer associations, economic and professional organizations of producers, and numerous institutions and institutions to represent the territory. Thanks to the collaboration between the Piedmont Region, Piedmont Land of Perfection and Unioncamere Piemonte, at Vinitaly around 200 producers are gathered in a collective exhibition area, where the coordinated image of the Piedmont system is promoted.

The image used for the preparation of the regional area, as every year was chosen through the competition of young artists organized by Artissima and promoted by the Piedmont Region. The work is by Alice Ronchi and represents the grape in pop and colored version.

The regional collective space includes a tasting area where the great wines of Piedmont will be protagonists: 17 Docg and 42 Doc which cover about 80% of the total production. These excellent wines, appreciated all over the world, have become symbols of the quality of Piedmont and Made in Italy. The program also includes tastings of vermouth and Piedmontese grappas, thanks to the collaboration with the Institute of Vermouth of Turin and the Consortium for the Protection of Grappa Piemonte and Grappa di Barolo.

The collective area of ​​Piedmont will also have a meeting space where a series of events will take place to present the news, initiatives and projects of Piedmontese viticulture. On Sunday 7 April at 2 pm there will be the official inauguration of the stand. In the Citadel of Gastronomy, Piedmont participates with the “Piedmont Restaurant” curated by great starred Piedmontese chefs: Massimo Camia, starred chef of the Massimo Camia Restaurant in La Morra (Cn) and Igor Macchia – Giovanni Grasso, starred chef of La Credenza Restaurant San Maurizio Canavese (To) that will offer the dishes of the best regional tradition combined with the great wines of Piedmont. Finally, for the prestigious “Angelo Betti” Award (ex Cangrande) awarded each year to the praiseworthy winemakers reported by the Regions, the designated for Piedmont is Vincenzo Gerbi, Professor of Food Science and Technology at the University of Agriculture’s Faculty of Agriculture. Turin, which for years has been carrying out research and teaching activities in viticulture and enology.
