About… Roero.
The Roero, whose Roche d’Ampsej is optimum ambassador, is brother to the most prestigious Langhe Nebbiolo. It was born on the other side of the Tanaro river, between Barolo and Barbaresco, but it shows the great features of this grape type, that is, at the same time, “mysterious and important”, as Matteo Correggia himself defined it. After 18 months aging in barrels, the Nebbiolo Roero Riserva Roche d’Ampsej is bottled and takes the name of the cru Roche d’Ampsej, such as the Nebbiolo vineyards characterised by sandy slopes which overlook the Roero rocks.
