Discover Alba by bike, it’s time to “Alba in Bici” in piazza Risorgimento

The traditional event dedicated to sport, quality time and eco-mobility, will take place in Alba, Sunday 12th May. It will be framed by many free side events, organised by the city to enjoy the full week-end.

Registrations are free and can be made at the Ente Turismo Alba Bra Langhe e Roero, from Wednesday 8th May and even on the day of the event at the infopoint in piazza Risorgimento, just in front of the City Hall, from 10.30 am.

“Alba in bici” is back and on its eighth edition, as always, it will be hosted in the successfull Primavera di Alba. Piazza Risorgimento will be the main meeeting point and the starting and finishing line of the free bike tour, but this place will be also a shop window where to discover all the news about the bike world.

The day will start at 10.30 am with the open air bike workshop organised by Cicli Torto, which will present the latest generation bicycles, while Eazymov will provide an e-bike service,called Bus2Bike, to the visitors, which has been introduced in the city since 2018.Meantime a didactic itinerary, organised by Freelangher, will involve kids with funny challenges, suitable to learn how to ride a bike. In the same square, from 2 pm,. Radio Alba will be broacasted live from its mobile station and will amuse visitors with music and interviews. The bike tour is scheduled at 3.30 pm and it will go through the streets of the city. You can partecipate in the bike ride with every types of bycicle, mountain bike or a traditional one.

The path is about 9km long. It will start in Piazza Risorgimento and then it will go through via Cavour, piazza Garibaldi, corso Matteotti, via Vivaro, via Ognissanti,  Strada Gamba di Bosco, Strade Basse, corso Piave, via San Teobaldo, via Giuseppe Romita, corso Langhe, piazza Michele Ferrero, corso Michele Coppino, piazza Monsignor Grassi, via Vida (against traffic), to reach finally piazza Risorgimento.The local associations of Alba Bike Team, Alba Triathlon, Freelangher and Fiab will lead the partecipants along the ring itinerary, up to piazza Risorgimento. The arrival is expected to be at 5 pm.At the finishing line, after a tasting break, there will be a lottery with a city bike offered by the Alba bike dealers Torto Ciclie Motocicli Destefanisand many monthly subscriptions for the bike sharing Bus2Bike, and many other prizes, such as t-shirts, bike vests and bells, provided by Fiab Alba, for the kids lottery (under 10 years).
