This event, organised by the Fondazione Ente Manifestazioni of Savigliano, invades with its perfumes, colours and flowers the historical centre and this edition will have a more extended itinerary. In fact, this year, it will be fitted out also via Garibaldi and the cloister of the ex Convento di Santa Monica, current seat of the University of Turin.
As always QuintEssenza is an hymn to the knowledge of the herbalist tradition, spices and scents of the territory between past and present. The event enhances quality products and the territory. The exhibition area, divided into thematic areas, hosts companies specialised in herbal medicine, cosmetics and nursery gardening, with their strictly natural, sustainable and quality products.
The streets of the city change name for a day
For a day the historic centre of Savigliano, which hosts the most fragrant and colourful market exhibition ever, will become almost unrecognisable even for fellow citizens. This year the area dedicated to QuintEssenza will be even bigger and will see its heart in “Piazza delle Erbe” (Piazza Santa Rosa), an open-air market where from 9am to 7pmon Sunday 19th May it will be possible to discover quality and virtue of medicinal plants and essences. Here exhibitors will accompany the public to discover smells and remote knowledge about the benefits and uses of classic herbal products, such as Pancalieri’s peppermint or medicinal plant extracts; essential syrups, artisanal liqueurs and herbal or liquorice based grappas. A journey that also touches distant lands with natural incenses, Ayurveda products and eco-sustainable cosmetics. All strictly natural for the well-being of the person.
Also this year Piazza Cesare Battisti is transformed into the “open-air garden”, with spring flowers, geraniums, surfines, aromatic plants, flowering perennials, ornamental and garden plants and services for ornamental green trees.
Piazza Molineri instead will host “the Island of green and perfumes”, a corner dedicated to flower and garden lovers, while via Garibaldi for the first year will host the Campagna Amica market curated by Coldiretti with fresh and processed healthy, genuine products and 100% Italian. On the other hand, Confagricoltura will set up a space dedicated to its associates that propose products of km0, seasonal and high quality, thus extending the path of Quintessence.
Craft and hobby artefacts will be the protagonists of the “streets of hobbyists”, in via Alfieri, via Torino, corso Roma, pier in piazza del Popolo, via Sant’Andrea, via Tapparelli and Piazza Turletti.
