The traditional spring appointment of the Strada del Barolo is back and the absolute protagonist will be the Barolo and its producers: the “King of wines” be presented to the local and international public with a walking tasting in the historical centre of Roddi, gateway to the Barolo Langa and a few kilometres far from Alba.
From 17 to 22.30, at least thirty producers will meet the enthusiasts of Barolo and the landscapes of Langhe, declared UNESCO World Heritage, in a “widespread” tasting which will lead participants in a journey to discover the “King of Wines”, along the narrow streets and the little squares of the concentric medieval village of Roddi, from Piazza Umberto I up to the belvedere, at the feet of the Castle.
An appointment that has been repeated for six editions, in 2019 this event will propose a programme conceived to celebrate Barolo, which producers will present in its many facets proposing different crus and vintages to taste. The public will have the opportunity to taste hot and cold dishes prepared by chef Danilo Lorusso of the La Crota restaurant.
As usual, alongside the main event, there will be Masterclasses and workshops for all those who wish to better discover Barolo and the great wines of the Langhe, thanks to the help of an expert.
With the Food&Wine Experiences, led by Federico Bellini, it will be possible to try gourmet pairings between a selection of Piedmontese wines and some top quality food products.
In the Wine Tasting Experience® 4.0 the public will be led by Sandro Minella to discover the wines through their personal sensorial perceptions. The latter will be an interactive game where participants will be able to evaluate the different parameters of the tasted wines and discover the sensorial profile of each wine using their smartphone.
Finally, major innovation of this edition, is the Masterclass about the sparkling wines from Nebbiolo grapes by Cantina Social (in two languages: Italian and English).
