The weekend of “Imaginé” comes to Vernante

Everything is ready in Vernante for the second edition of Imaginé, the small festival of storytelling.

After the workshops in the schools of the Vermenagna valley, which will end on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd, the town of Pinocchio is ready to host a rich programme of events for a transversal audience.

On Saturday 21st the first appointment is scheduled at 10am with the watercolour walk in Palanfrè with the cartoonist and watercolourist Davide Osenda, while at the Visitor Centre of the Alpi Marittime Park will be held the market dedicated to illustration and graphics, meantime there will be the workshop proposed by Simona Iorio, artisan and creator of the tailoring brand “A fiSh on a cloud”, which will allow participants to print their own personalised Imaginé shopper. In the afternoon, the festival will get underway, with the art print workshops of the Nerofumo art printing association, the creative workshops for children with Marco Paschetta and Romina Panero, the inauguration of the exhibition of the tables by the illustrator Luca Caimmi from Marche, who will tell his experience to Caterina Ramonda, the presentation of the comic Dogmadrome by Lorenzo Mò and the readings aloud for children from three years upwards by noau, cultural workshop organised in collaboration with the project Nati per leggere Cuneo and some “Ambasciatrici di storie 2018-19”.

At 9.00 pm the Teatro della Confraternita will be the setting for an absolute premiere featuring Lorenzo Mò and Nicolò Bottasso. Mò is a cartoonist from Mondovì, who was born in 1988 and whose first work, Dogmadrome, was published by Eris Edizioni in 2019 and it is gathering wide acclaim. He will perform a live painting in dialogue with the violin, trumpet and live electronics of Nicolò Bottasso. Bottasso, violinist, trumpet player and arranger, has to his credit the many years of experience in the “Duo Bottasso” founded with his brother Simone, the ten-year adventure of the orchestral and of the Folkestra and Folkoro project and the success of Biserta and other stories, album signed by the Duo Bottasso and Simone Sims Longo, considered one of the most interesting releases of 2019. The show offered by Mò and Bottasso, is free, but reservation required on Eventbrite. The show is suitable for all ages and it promises to be full of improvisation.

The programme scheduled for Sunday 22nd will open with a walk drawn in the Sibelco quarry in Robilante; the tour will last about an hour, during which the company’s activities will be illustrated and the characteristics of the naturalistic landscape surrounding the participants, who will be immersed in the lunar landscape of the summit of the quarry. Here illustrator Stefano Allisiardi will lead a live drawing workshop. Parallel to Vernante Visitor Center Luca Caimmi will hold a creative workshop for children aged 6 to 12 years. The highlight of Sunday afternoon will be the creation of a large collective work with extraction material from the Sibelco mining activities (special sponsor of the festival) in Piazza dell’Ala. The event, which will take place indoors in the event of bad weather, is open to everyone and is aimed particularly at children and families.
