A journey around the world through the pages of great classical and contemporary authors. It is the evening of readings and music “In viaggio con le parole”, conceived by Progetto Cantoregi, which will take place on Saturday 5 October 2019 at 9 pm in Racconigi (Church of Santa Croce, via Morosini) during which the Municipality will present the 2019 program / 20 of the University for the Three Ages.

“Travelling with words” It will develop through readings from novels, essays, poems or poems that have told real places, but also imagined, geographical spaces, but also mental ones.

Adventure trips, made for the pleasure of novelty and discovery; trips made to understand distant countries and peoples; journeys to know oneself; travel in the darkest depths of humanity; travels of fantasy, to adhere to reality. An evening that will make the viewer travel across the globe with the words of great masters of international literature who have been able to tell about territories, countries and cities, each with their own sensibility and their own gaze.

Among the proposed explorations, we will move from Portugal by José Saramago (Journey to Portugal) to the Patagonia of Bruce Chatwin (In Patagonia), from the Orient described by the look of Ryszard Kapuściński (Traveling with Herodotus) to the United States on Jack’s road Kerouac (On the Road). But also from the depths of the depths of humanity and despair told by Louis-Ferdinand Céline (Journey to the End of the Night), to the sadly apocalyptic atmospheres of Cormac McCarthy (The Road). Until the voyage of the whaler Pequod in Moby Dick by Herman Melville, between anxieties and dreams.

The evening will be presented by Cristina Fenoglio, with readings on her part and by Fabio Ferrero, Elide Giordanengo, Vincenzo Leuzzi and Andrea Piovano. The musical pieces, chosen to be in tune with the proposed texts, are entrusted to the voice of the singer Chiara Catrambone. Free admission, with refreshments at the end of the evening.
