The story goes on stage in the castles of Langhe and Roero. And so the nineteenth edition of “Narrar castelli e vini” stops in the manor houses of the Barolo & Castles Foundation.
In particular in Barolo and Magliano Alfieri (new entry of the Foundation) where the narrated visits organized in collaboration with the initiative promoted by the Tourism in Langa association will be an opportunity to relive the glories of the past and toast together in front of a breathtaking view on the Unesco hills.
NARRAR CASTLELLI E VINI
The circuit (which also includes visits to the castles of Monticello d’Alba, Monteu Roero and Ceresole d’Alba) will lead you through a journey back in time to allow the public to discover memorable events and anecdotes, as well as enjoy the richness of the food and wine production of the territory. Undisputed protagonists, the castles and their narration, which allows the visitor to become an integral part of the scene and interlocutor of the characters among stories and legends. Not a simple guided tour, therefore, but an event where the common thread is given by the story: a narrated visit. Visitors will be in fact accompanied to discover the buildings by the same characters – storytellers, entertainers and tourist guides for the occasion in period costumes – in the shoes of the ancient inhabitants who lived among those environments to tell historical events, legends and curiosities related to their castles.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 26th IN BAROLO
The Falletti castle of Barolo (which houses the WiMu – Wine Museum) will offer a special night visit, for a journey to discover the history and the noble floor of the manor, which preserves the original furnishings of the Falletti family of Barolo. The visit will be narrated by the marquises Carlo Tancredi Falletti and his wife Giulia in person, to discover the history of the castle, the Barolo wine and some characters like Silvio Pellico and Camillo Benso di Cavour, protagonists of the Italian Risorgimento epic and habitual guests of the manor . At the end of the narrated tour, there will be space for the tasting of wines from local producers.
From 7pm to 12am (departures every hour, last departure at 11pm)

SUNDAY OCTOBER 27th IN MAGLIANO ALFIERI
The visits narrated in the majestic castle of Magliano will allow finally to discover the history of the Alfieri di Sostegno family and to admire the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions – Gesso Culture, with a passionate professor of Vittorio Alfieri, who will accompany the visit to the halls of the castle own class of students, searching for a famous painting by Cleopatra, which seems to have inspired the tragedy in the conception of Saul. But surprisingly the class of students will come to the manor in the 1990s, just as the Gessi Museum is under construction thanks to the will of Antonio Adriano. At the end of the visit it will be possible to taste wines from local producers.
