The Piedmont Region, with the participation of the Italian Alpine Club of Regional Park Authorities – including that of the Maritime Alps – and national ones, in the summer launched the first edition of Sguardi sul GTA Piemonte, a competition whose main theme is the Great Crossing of the Alps, or the extraordinary hiking route that runs through the entire Piedmontese Alpine region, from the Formazza Valley and Lake Maggiore to the Tanaro Valley, coinciding with the Piedmontese stretch of the Italy Path CAI 2019.
A journey along more than 1,000 km, divided into 71 stages, where splendid natural landscapes meet and traces of the millennial presence of man and Alpine culture.
Participants have until October 31st 2019 to provide an artistic testimony in the form of photography, video or graphic history of this variety of natural and anthropic scenarios. The best exciting, intelligent and original looks on this incredible heritage to experience and protect will be rewarded.
The competition is organized in collaboration with the Institute for Wood Plants and the Environment of Turin. And it is in fact on www.ipla.org that the regulations and the participation form are published. The best works will be exhibited in an exhibition.
The initiative is part of the collaboration agreement signed between the Departments of Mountain and Tourism of the Piedmont Region and 37 other bodies including Municipalities of the Montane, regional protected areas, national parks, Italian Alpine Club.
