Planting new trees is not just a symbolic gesture but a concrete, though small, help for the environment. It is with this spirit that this year the Municipality of Bra participates in the National Tree Day – better known as the Tree Festival – which takes place on November 21st, 2019. On this occasion, new trees will be planted in 20 city schools: lime trees, cherry trees, olive trees, peach trees, different essences but with a single meaning, that of the need to pay attention to nature. The municipal administrators and representatives of the environmentalist associations from Bra will also take part in the ceremony.

“This occasion represents a first implementation of the commitment that we have taken on at the recent edition of Cheese to join the national campaign ‘Un Albero in più’, promoted by the scientist Stefano Mancuso on behalf of the ‘Laudato sì’ communities, by the president of ‘Slow Food’ Carlo Petrini and the bishop of Rieti Domenico Pompili “, underlined the mayor of Bra Gianni Fogliato and the councilor for the environment Massimo Borrelli, who added:” It is only a first step of a wider environmental project that will continue with the involvement of private individuals and will see the planting of other trees in the municipal area “.

All the plants were supplied free of charge by some operators of the floriculture sector: Jardecò, Vivai del Bandito, Vivai Barberis, Gorna.
