Climbing, ski mountaineering and adrenaline. Until now, these have been the common denominators of the 2019 edition of Mondovì Mountain Film, which has brought on the screen “Free Solo” (Best 2019 Oscar for Best Documentary), “The Dawn Wall” (awarded at Trento Film in recent weeks) to the Monregalese area. Festival 2018) and “BENI-SpeedTransalp”, a regional preview of the extraordinary sports enterprise of Benedikt Böhm, capable of traveling 210 kilometres and 10,000 meters of positive gradient in less than 36 hours.
The final evening, then, could only end with an absolute champion: the Trentino mountaineer Rolando Larcher. Born in 1965 and a member of the prestigious Italian Academic Alpine Club, Larcher is the author of dozens of new routes in the Dolomites, but he has also brought his technique and his climbing skills to Mexico, Madagascar, Turkey, Morocco, Australia, Canada and States US. Winner of the SAT 2019 Award (promoted by the Tridentine Alpinist Society in conjunction with the Trento Film Festival), Larcher will talk on the occasion with another local star, Giovanni Massari.
