The day will include multiple moments of enhancement and promotion of the Cuneo “snow system” organised in the town. In the afternoon of Friday 29th, Piazza Ex Foro Boario in Cuneo will host the Snow Village animated by ski resorts, ski instructors and nice mascots: Asso, Leon, Pinky from Mondolé and Ligabue, the little bear from Entracque, some of the lucky characters that during the winter they animate the ski resorts and cross-country centres, they will descend from the mountains to welcome families and children, bringing them closer to the world of snow. Global Mountain guides will instead be available for mountain safety demonstrations and to illustrate their numerous approach and improvement courses for winter outdoor activities.
Testimonials of the event will be some of the big names in the Italian skiing. First of all, the champion from Cuneo, Stefania Belmondo, one of the most titled athletes in history in the fund discipline, with ten Olympic medals and thirteen world champions. To represent the discipline of alpine skiing there will be Kristian Ghedina, the most victorious Italian downhill skier in the history of the Alpine Ski World Cup, one of the best specialists of the nineties. Representing the Paralympic world will be Davide Bendotti, athlete who represented Italy at the PyeongChang Paralympics in 2018, Italian champion of special slalom and giant slalom, he will accompanied by Davide Gros, FISIP federal technician responsible for alpine skiing.
The champions will be present in the late afternoon at the Snow Village for the signing of autographs and will then attend the “Snow and Champions” event organized by the ATL del Cuneese in collaboration with Cuneo Snow, the Global Mountain Guide and the City of Cuneo at the VARCO Auditorium, starting at 8.30pm. The evening, funded by the Piedmont Region and the Chamber of Commerce of Cuneo, will be conducted by the sports journalist, known television face, Marino Bartoletti. Participation in the show “Neve e Campioni” will be a free admission subject to availability, with reservations required at the Cuneo Tourist Office (tel. 0171.690217 – int. 1 or iatcuneo@cuneoholiday.com). During the evening, great surprises for the public offered by the ski resorts belonging to Cuneo Snow and by the Global Mountain guides.
At 6.00 pm, the VARCO Auditorium will also host the press conference presenting the novelties of the 2019/20 ski season, a meeting point for snow sector entrepreneurs and sector journalists who will be able to catch all the news of the winter now at the door .
