On December 26th, Santo Stefano, CoopCulture proposes a thematic guided tour in Saluzzo: “The magic of Christmas”, with a journey in search of the most evocative representations of the Nativity in the historic centre, in museums and places of worship, including the Civic Museum Casa Cavassa, the Church of San Giovanni and the Duomo. The guide will highlight the paintings and works kept outside and inside the museums. It will also be an opportunity to visit the Saluzzo churches, embellished with evocative representations of the birth of Jesus. The guided tour will start at 3:00 pm from the ticket office in Castile. The cost is 5 euros per person, free for children under 12, accompanied by an adult.

On the last Sunday of the year, December 29th, and on Epiphany, guided afternoon visits to Castile provide for a sweet end. After having highlighted events and curiosities in the long history of the fortress, built in 1270 and the object of transformations and changes over the centuries to follow, the guide will accompany the participants on the walkways to admire the suggestive surrounding landscape. Visits will end at the La Castiglia cafĂ©-restaurant to enjoy panettone accompanied by eggnog, a typical Piedmontese delight prepared by chef Luca Banchio, the restaurant’s owner. Visits will start at 15.30 and 16.30 from the ticket office in Castile. It is advisable to book. The cost is 5 euros per person, 2 euros for children under 12 accompanied.

The Saluzzo civic museums are closed for Christmas and New Year. Casa Pellico is temporarily closed for technical reasons.
