Let’s celebrate the Liberation Day…online!

This year, due to the health emergency that prevents direct contact between people, the April 25th celebrations will be online: a long marathon – created by the Regional Council’s Resistance and Constitution Committee together with the Polo del ‘900, in the City of Turin, at the Diffused Resistance Museum, at the Turin Civic Libraries; in technical collaboration with the RAI Production Centre of Turin and the TOP-IX Consortium; media partner La Stampa – will animate the day which has always represented an important institutional moment of memory and collective celebration.

Starting at 10, by connecting to www.lastampa.it in the dedicated section or to the sites www.cr.piemonte.it and www.comune.torino.it citizens will be able to attend a digital relay and celebrate April 25th in a large virtual square followed on social networks with the hashtag # Torino25aprile.

In this particular festival you can listen to passages and stories about the Resistance and Liberation from the voice of protagonists and historians such as, among others, Alessandro Barbero, Barbara Berruti, Mirco Carrattieri, Giovanni De Luna, Cleofe Filippi, Carlo Greppi and Bruno Segre, see videos and images, listen to testimonies and contributions from artists and writers.

On the evening of April 24th, in the impossibility of realizing the traditional torchlight procession, the City invites the Turinese to participate in a flash mob by exposing the tricolour and turning on a light, a candle or any light on their balconies or windows.

The detailed program will be presented during a virtual press conference to be held on Tuesday 21st April at noon.
