The Civic Library of Mondovì, a place of study and culture, in compliance with the decrees in force, has been closed to the public from 10th March. From the desire to maintain a solid relationship with readers and to provide a small aid to the Monregalese families, however, the Library has now activated a “virtual place” dedicated to children.
On the municipal website, in fact, a “Family Space” has been set up with quality content aimed at entertainment and made available for free use.
In particular, there are three cartoons dedicated to Mondovì and its history (the tradition of printing and ceramics) and produced in the past years by the Municipality in collaboration with the Comprehensive Institutes, the City Museums and the cultural association “La Yellow box ”of Cuneo. To these are added the readings made spontaneously by some of the users of the Library, who gave them to younger users.
“A small sign – declares the Councilor for Culture, Luca Olivieri -, but important to testify the proximity of the Library to its members and friends, both young and old. Culture is certainly one of the sectors most affected by the effects of this epidemiological emergency and in the same way the youngest are “affected” by it, because they do not go to school and cannot enjoy the freedom they are used to. I thank the Director, the Offices and all those who have made the materials available: we hope that these contributions can provide a small support to the Monregalese families, waiting to meet again to read a good book together and attend the rooms of our Library ».
