Agricultural land par excellence, the Cuneo area has recently become an important industrial hub.

Today the Granda is economically prosperous. Its industries have developed and have come to occupy a place of absolute importance both nationally and internationally.

Industries such as Ferrero, Miroglio, Merlo, Alstom, Mondo and others, have conquered important markets worldwide but there are many brands that have managed to emerge in all sectors.

Craftsmanship also occupies a prominent place, growing even better thanks to its quality products. Perhaps the most prestigious sector is that of the art furniture in the Saluzzo area. Alongside the industrial and craft sector, a very active and dynamic commercial sector has developed.

The agriculture: one of the strengths of the Cuneo economy

The agriculture deserves a separate analysis, in fact, it has always been one of the strengths of the Cuneo economy. Today agriculture and animal husbandry offer consumers high quality products. Just think of the great wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Arneis, Moscato, the zootechnics that produces excellent quality meat (think about Carrù beef), cheeses, fruit, hazelnuts, chestnuts and mushrooms. Above all, however, the white truffle of Alba (Tuber Magnatum Pico) stands out, a very rare and very expensive product, which has achieved worldwide fame as a superb crowning of fine gastronomy. Alba has been able to understand the importance and uniqueness of this precious underground fungus, has made it a work horse for its tourist image and has drawn great economic benefits from it. The tourist vocation of the Cuneo area has proved to be a winning weapon thanks to the exploitation of a unique territory.
