Fireworks from the museums

The night of September 3rd, from 9 pm to 10.30 pm, on the occasion of the fireworks for the patronal feast of San Chiaffredo there will be the opportunity to spend the evening at the museums of Saluzzo. CoopCulture offers a guided tour of the historical city centre with a view of the fireworks from the top of the Civic Tower. At the end of the evening, a toast is planned in the cloister of San Giovanni.

Acque in città

Water, a common good today defended and valued: this will be the common thread of a new itinerary that will touch both the lower part and the upper part of Saluzzo, on Saturday September 14th, from 9pm to 10.30pm.

We will talk about the wide river network that runs beneath the city, the canalization works, started in the 15th century, with the function of irrigating the meadows and producing mechanical energy for the functioning of the mills and the factories. You will see the wells and the ancient and contemporary fountains.

Meeting at the ticket office of the Castiglia, Piazza Castello – 1. The guided tour costs 5 euros per person, free admission for children under 12 years.

Svitati 2019

Sunday 15th September in Piazza Cavour will take place the event Svitati: “the wines you don’t expect, from brave winemakers”. SVITATI 2019 dedicates attention to mountain wines and small producers who aim high, proud of their wines, produced from heroic, rare and indigenous vines. You will find producers from all over Italy, tasting stalls,  workshops led by AIS sommeliers and pairings with local products.

European Heritage Days

For the European Heritage Days, on Sunday 22nd September, there will be two special initiatives: a workshop for families, “Scorrendo i dipinti di Matè” and a guided tour for everyone entitled: “Sulle orme di Matteo Olivero: la sua vita, il suo tempo “.

The theme of the EHD 2019 is “One two three … Art! – Culture and Entertainment “, that is interpreted with a proposal that focuses on the needs of different targets and art proposals in museums and cultural venues.

The two initiatives will take place in the Castiglia and in the Matteo Olivero Art Gallery.

Both the family workshop and the guided tours will start from the Castiglia; the meeting point is at the ticket office at 4pm for the workshop and at 4.30pm or 5.30pm for the guided tours.

On September 21st and 22nd, for the European Heritage Days, the Municipality of Saluzzo has established a reduced rate entry for all visitors to the civic museums.

Postcards from Saluzzo

Cartoline da Saluzzo is the initiative that foresees the opening of a museum a month in the summer, from 9pm to midnight.

On Saturday, September 28th, the Old Town Hall with the Matteo Olivero Art Gallery along with the Torre Civica will also be open in the evening, from 9pm to midnight, at a reduced rate. In addition, guided tours are planned that tell the story of the Palace from its origins to the present and the role of the Tower, the emblem of the city, a landmark and symbol of Saluzzo’s renovation. For the occasion, the chest containing the ancient clock of the Tower will be opened, built in 1835 by Carlo Martina “His Majesty’s watchmaker”, it replaced a more ancient clock and found its place on the sixth floor of the Civic Tower.

Guided tours will start every half hour, from 9.30pm to 11.30pm; the cost is 2 euros per person, admission for accompanied children under 12 is free.

Giada del Monviso

The exhibition  “La Giada del Monviso” will be open until September 29th. From the Mountain to the centre of  Europe of 7000 years ago. The exhibition is set up in two salons of the Ancient Stables of the Caserma Mario Musso in Piazza Montebello, 1.

The exhibition will be open on Saturdays and Sundays all day from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free.
