1999

• Total collection: 45.8 million Lire

• Largest truffle: 780 gr awarded to restaurateur Wolfgang Puck for the amount of 12.5 million Lira to serve in his Hollywood club to stars Sharon Stone and Julia Roberts

The Prize “Ambassador of the Alba White Truffle in the World” was awarded to Alberico Penati, great chef of the exclusive Harry’s Bar in London; in Hong Kong the award was given to Umberto Bombana.

2006

  • Largest truffle: 1,509 gr awarded by a banker in Hong Kong for the amount of € 125,000
  • Auctioneer: Davide Paolini
  • VIP: Gérard Depardieu who, from the Paris office (Restaurant Les Ambassadeurs on Place de la Concorde), also won a truffle for the price of 25,000 euros. At the Castle of Grinzane Cavour, alongside the President of the Enoteca Regionale sen. 2010

• Total collection: € 307,200

• Largest truffle: 936 gr, awarded in Hong Kong for € 105,000

• Auctioneer: Davide Paolini

• Present characters: the actress and TV presenter Mara Venier, the television host Massimo Giletti, the eclectic actor and presenter Enzo Iacchetti, the Brazilian showgirl Juliana Moreira and the journalist Francesca Senette. The President of the Piedmont Region, Roberto Cota, the Regional Tourism Councilor Alberto Cirio, the Director of Libero Maurizio Belpietro, the journalist Maria Pia Ammirati, the chef Gianfranco Vissani, the singer and wine producer Omar Pedrini were also present in the room. The Auction was held in the presence of the President of the Senate, Renato Schifani. Giovanni Rana, “king” of tortellini, was also added to the prestigious parterre. • Largest truffle: 2 twin truffles with a total weight of 950 grams, awarded in Hong Kong for € 90,000

• Larger truffle: a twin truffle with a total weight of 1 kilogram, awarded in Hong Kong for € 100,000

During the auction there was the awarding of the singular culinary duel between journalists, the Alba White Truffle Cooking Award, held on Saturday 8 November at the La Rei restaurant of the Boscareto Resort and Spa in Serralunga d’Alba: a gastronomic challenge that saw busy in the kitchen Maddalena Fossati of Vanity Fair, Andrea Grignaffini, artistic director of Spirito diVino, Fernanda Roggero, Food & wine editor ilSole24ore with and Federica De Luca, of the magazine Dove, called to enhance in their preparations the prized White Alba Truffle. • Largest truffle: 900 gr purchased from a Hong Kong contractor for € 100,000.00

• Total collection: € 450,000

• Larger truffle: a twin truffle weighing a total of 1,170 gr, was bought in Grinzane by the Chinese chef Zhenxiang Dong € 100,500

• Larger truffle: a twin truffle weighing 850 g was won by the Chinese steward from the financier Eugene Fung of Hong Kong for € 75,000

• Auctioneer: Enzo Iacchetti

• Characters present: the director and actor Roberto Ciufoli, to auction off the lots of truffles and wines was the television presenter of Raiuno Elisa Isoardi, already in the past several times protagonist of the event.
