In the Santuario di Monserrato there are many the cribs, including the mechanical one and many artistic works. The work is part of the province cribs circuit.
Since2011 every year in December the Sanctuary of Monserrato opens its doors to accommodate the cribs made by “artisans” or simple lovers of the crib of the province of Cuneo and beyond.
CRIBS IN MONSERRATO is growing year by year, both in the number of visitors and in the artistic level of the exhibited works.
Moreover, since 2012, thanks to the mastery of the volunteer of the “Santuario di Monserrato Association” Piero Paganini, Monserrato has its own MECHANICAL CRIB that is enriched every year with new mechanical movements, characters and special effects. About 30/40 the cribs that are exposed every year inside the Sanctuary of Monserrato. Many guest artists are invited to exhibit some of the most beautiful works ever made in Italy.
2019 news:
• the Mechanical Crib of Monserrato created by Piero Paganini and donated by him to the Sanctuary has been enriched with new movements and special effects that are truly spectacular!
• The wonderful nativity donated by the Gesù Buon Pastore Parish of Turin in the person of Don Giorgio Jalla will find space inside the hut created by Paolo Saclambro.
• Many guest artists coming in particular from Turin: Paolo Scalambro, Abramo Telesa and some of the most appreciated artists of the Mondo Presepi Association of Turin with whom this year continues a path of collaboration and mutual enhancement of the exhibitions of Borgo San Dalmazzo and Turin.
• Furthermore, the highly appreciated NIGHT OPENINGS scheduled on Christmas’ Eve and Epiphany and December 28th (for an alternative Saturday evening) in which the artificial lights of the sanctuary will be turned off and the “dark” path will be illuminated will be illuminated only by the cribs lights.
