The magical atmosphere of the central and northern European Christmas markets arrives in Saluzzo, with a programme scheduled for December.

“The Christmas Market of Saluzzo” will have its main day on December 8th, when the Christmas banquets will be protagonists from Piazza Risorgimento to Corso Piemonte, involving the streets of the Center.

The wooden houses will host exclusive craft products, with many gift ideas.

On opening days there will be animations and presences of Elves, Santa, games and players, tastings of food and hot drinks, in the sign of the Christmas atmosphere that characterizes the most beautiful markets.

Saluzzo restaurants  members will participate offering food and hot drinks, to liven up the Christmas village.

Sunday 1st December double date:

• In Via Savigliano, a small tradition-related fair with stalls that will take the local tastes to the streets, an animal farm – chickens, goats, ponies and rabbits – and the second edition of “Qua la zampa” with activities related to the world of dogs.

• In Via Volta the second edition of an elegant market where to find particular items for Christmas gifts. The first of December will also be the last day of the opening of the exhibition “Dentro al disegno” in the Museum of Castile.

On Sunday 8th December a large market will animate the streets of the city from 9 am. The protagonists will be the artisans with tops and clothes for dolls made by hand, the “Intagliatori association” from Rivoli, the games of genius, the street artists to make adults and children smile. Animations and Santa Claus will enrich Via Palazzo di Città.

To finish with a flourish, the “fires” return to Saluzzo with a fireworks display with light and colour effects. Play of lights and scenic effects to greet the day of shopping and invite you to stay in Saluzzo also for a dinner or an aperitif.

On Sunday, December 15th another market, this time in Castellar, along the streets of scarecrows.

The fun animations for children with the Mago Pongo, the stalls of handicrafts and local products and a nice novelty, the collaboration with Don Marco Casalis and the speakers of the Diocese of Saluzzo, who are already participating in the Carnival. The children of the speakers will in fact be the protagonists of a living nativity scene starting from early afternoon. Around 4.30 pm a snack for all the little actors and a concert of popular music by the Violin Ensemble and Guitars by teachers Chiara and Sara Cesano and Dario Littera under the wing of Piazza del Municipio.

All day long Castellar and Saluzzo will be joined by a free shuttle bus promoted by Bus Company and Fondazione Amleto Bertoni starting from 9.30 am until 5.30 pm (Saluzzo – Piazza XX Settembre / Castellar – town entrance).

Meanwhile, in Saluzzo, the animations continue … The Sound Factory will propose 2 workshops at the Magda Olivero Theatre in the afternoon, entitled UN NATALE BESTIALE.

On Sunday 22nd December Saluzzo will close the calendar of scheduled events with Bandakadabra, the famous Marching Band from Turin, fresh from “X Factor”, which will offer its Christmas swing repertoire from 3.30 pm and then conclude with a final piece in the Cathedral square ( 3 shows of 30 minutes each around the streets of the centre).
