In 1986, Giorgio Ferrero became the owner of the family farm that for four generations has been producing wine in Pino d’Asti. He implemented the organic farming method for all of its production and begun to market its products under the Ca ’del Prete brand. The surface of the company is about six hectares of vineyard which, together with a hand selected grape harvest, give rise to wines with a flavour that conveys unmistakable sensations, where the ethereal leaves space to the great structure that the hills of this lands rich in fossils transmit. Since 2011, after the experience gained in the company as an adjunct, Luca Ferrero (Giorgio’s nephew) becomes the owner of the company and he adhered to the community disciplinary of organic wine, continuing in the tradition.

About… Barbera.
The Barbera is among the most representative vines of Piedmont and it covers about 30% of the 43,000 hectares of vineyard area of the region. Originally from Monferrato, this vine is cultivated mainly in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, where it reaches its maximum expression in Barbera d’Asti, a wine that obtained the Doc recognition in 1970 and the Docg one in 2008. The Barbera d’Asti is a wine linked to the ancient rural traditions that today represent a product in continuous evolution, which grows following the new knowledge in the viticulture and oenological field.
